Take a dip into the history of Lake Starnberg. By boat or by bus – discover with us the second largest Bavarian Lake which is a popular outing destination of the people of Munich. It is bordered by magnificent villas, old fishing houses and picturesque manor houses. Get impressed by the most amazing panorama: from the Benediktenwand across the Karwendel range to the Zugspitze mountain, Germany’s highest peak, and learn about Oskar Maria Graf, the author, about Sissi, wife of Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, and about King Ludwig II who met his death here. The history of the Andechs dates back to the 10th century. Get to know the "Holy Mountain” with us with its impressive Rococo church and Andechs hospitality. Afterwards we will take you by boat or bus to the charming village of Diessen on lake Ammersee and show you the baroque Marienmünster cathedral with its amazing high altar by Francois Cuvilliés. Diessen is also famous for its artists. Carl Orff, the composer, and Luise Rinser both lived here. Join us also for a walk around this charming village with its narrow alleyways and the picturesque pewter and pottery workshops.
One of the most magnificent palace grounds is located not far from Munich - the Old and the New Schleissheim Palaces and Lustheim Palace.
We show you the New Schleissheim Palace with its famous ceiling fresco by Cosmas Damian Asam and, after a walk through the baroque palace garden, also the Lustheim Palace with its world-famous collection of Meissen Porcelain. It ranks among the largest collections of its kind.
Freising is one of the oldest towns in Bavaria. Join us for a walk up the Domberg (cathedral hill) and be impressed by Mariendom cathedral, the town’s landmark, and the delicate stuccowork of the Asam brothers.
